Shopping for makeup isn’t what it used to be. Nowadays, women are more conscious of ingredients in the products they consume and that includes makeup. Because of this heightened awareness, I’ve felt a responsibility to offer my clients the option of cosmetics with more organic ingredients. However, not all lines that offer more natural ingredients are created equal. In my opinion, much of the “organic” makeup on the market looks great the first 30 minutes after its applied but doesn’t seem to have much staying power. I applied the colors Lourdes sent on my model, Megan, a co-worker who has particularly sensitive skin around her eyes. Megan generally does not wear eye makeup for that reason. Glo Minerals is perfect for her skin type because it not only offers natural, non-comedogenic ingredients, but it excludes perfumes and chemical dyes, which are known culprits of skin and eye irritation. Not only did Megan love the look I gave her using Glo’s gorgeous shadows and eyeliner, but she said she felt no discomfort whatsoever around her eyes. I also really enjoy the silky texture and pigments of the shadows and the smooth consistency of the gel eyeliner I used. They layered beautifully on her eyes to create this sultry look.
