Retinol: A girl's best friend

Who needs diamonds? Retinol is a term that describes vitamin A derivatives that help to kill acne bacteria, unclog pores, and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It speeds up cell turnover to even out discoloured skin (even more effective when hydraquinone is used as well), and can even increase the production of collagen. Although highly effective, the prescription retinols can leave the skin irritated and a bit red (Tazorac, adapalene creams etc).

You don't have to wreak havoc on your skin with retinols to get the desired effect. A personal favourite is the Skin Tx Retinol SR. "SR" stands for slow release. It gently penetrates your skin so that you slowly absorb the retinols and your skin can manage the ingredient. Apply once in the evening. A treatment cream for breakouts, wrinkles, collagen production, and pigmented skin is truly a girl's best friend.
