I wanted to share with you some information that I found in one of my favourite books Superfoods by David Wolfe. In the book aloe vera is described as the "Essene and Egyptian Secret of Immortality". The gel of aloe contains vitamins A, C, and E, the minerals sulfer, calcium, magnesium, zinc, as well as a load of anti-oxidants, fiber, and amino acids.
What does this have to do with skin?
Well, aloe can be applied both topically and ingested to help support our complex system. When you ingest aloe you can lose weight and gain muscle mass. It helps create digestive wellnes, reduce inflammation and increase the immune system. If your insides are working well then your outsides will look well. If you don't like the texture or consistency of aloe, you can extract it from the plant and mix it up in your daily protein shake!
