Hexamidine is known in the skin industry to be an anti-microbial and disinfectant. It makes for a great cleanser for acne prone skin. What's amazing about this product is that it's not only for the occasional breakout, it also kills demodex which are microscopic mites that can live in rosacea clients. It can inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungus and yeast build up in the skin. Hexamidine also increases the production of lipids in the stratum corneum which are essential to moisturizing aging skin. My favourite Hexamidine solution on the market is Vivier's Hexam cleanser. Only $45 in a bottle that will last about 4 months, it's an excellent choice for a starter cleanser!
